NNPC Offers ₦66 Petrol Discount to Mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary

Nigerians can get a ₦66 discount on petrol through the NNPC Fuel App as part of NNPC Retail’s Independence Day promotion.

The offer runs from October 1 to October 7, 2026, marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary. Customers using the NNPC Fuel App can access the promotional discount during the seven-day period.

The promotion comes as NNPC has also reduced petrol prices at some of its filling stations.

In Lagos, the pump price was reduced from ₦1,375 to ₦1,360 per litre, while stations in Abuja and surrounding areas reduced their price from ₦1,395 to ₦1,370 per litre.

The price adjustments followed a ₦25 reduction in Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s petrol gantry price, which brought the refinery’s price to ₦1,325 per litre. Other fuel marketers have also adjusted their prices following the reduction.

For NNPC Fuel App users, the Independence promotion provides another discount on top of the prevailing pump price during the campaign period.

The promotion is part of NNPC Retail’s activities to mark the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, giving motorists an opportunity to save on their fuel purchases during the seven-day campaign.

With petrol prices remaining a major expense for motorists, transport operators and businesses, even a temporary reduction can make a noticeable difference for people buying fuel regularly.

Would a ₦66 discount on every litre make a meaningful difference to your weekly fuel expenses?
